U.S. Soccer Learning Center FAQ: Creating Your Account & Finding Your USSF ID

How to create a U.S. Soccer Learning Center account, find your USSF ID, and answers to the most common questions about U.S. Soccer requirements in Ankored.

This FAQ covers creating a U.S. Soccer Learning Center account, finding your USSF ID, and fixing the most common issues. For background on how Ankored connects to the Learning Center and how syncing works, see the Complete Guide to U.S. Soccer Learning Requirements in Ankored.

How do I create a U.S. Soccer Learning Center account?

Ankored verifies your U.S. Soccer certifications through the U.S. Soccer Learning Center. If you don't have a Learning Center account yet, you'll need to create one before Ankored can verify your requirements.

  1. Fill in your personal details. Important: Use your full legal first and last name and your correct date of birth. Your name and date of birth in the Learning Center must exactly match your Ankored (or LeagueApps) profile for automatic verification to work.

  2. Use the same email address you use with Ankored if possible. Your primary email address becomes your Learning Center username, and a matching email allows Ankored to connect your accounts automatically.

  3. Check the required agreement boxes and click Sign Up.

  4. Check your inbox for a verification email from U.S. Soccer (check spam if you don't see it) and click the verification link. If you listed two email addresses (for example, a parent email for a minor), both addresses must be verified before the account is unlocked.

  5. Log in and complete your profile. Your USSF ID is created automatically with your account.

If you previously held a U.S. Soccer license (even years ago), do not create a second account. Follow the sign-up flow and the system should locate your existing record, or contact U.S. Soccer Learning Center support at https://ussf.my.site.com/lcsupport/s/contactsupport to recover your account.

Where do I find my USSF ID?

Your USSF ID is a 16-digit number (often shown in the format 1000-0000-XXXX-XXXX). You can find it in three places:

  • Your Learning Center profile - Log in at https://learning.ussoccer.com, click your name in the top right corner, and select Profile. Your 16-digit USSF ID is displayed on your profile page. It also appears on your license documents under the Licenses or Certifications tab.

  • U.S. Soccer Directory - Search for yourself at https://learning.ussoccer.com/directory. Note: the directory only returns results if you have an active Learning Center profile with non-expired certifications.

  • Physical ID card - For some roles (such as referees), your USSF ID appears on your physical ID card.

Tip: Copy and paste your USSF ID directly from your Learning Center profile into Ankored to avoid typos.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "USSF ID Required" mean in Ankored?

Ankored was unable to automatically match your profile to a U.S. Soccer Learning Center account. This usually happens when your email, name, or date of birth don't match between the two systems. Find your USSF ID (see above) and enter it manually in the requirement in Ankored.

What does "Waiting on USSF License" mean?

Your USSF ID is connected, and Ankored is waiting for the required license or certification to appear as complete in the U.S. Soccer Learning Center. There is no document to upload for this requirement. Complete the required training or license in the Learning Center, and Ankored will update automatically.

How do I know what I need to do?

Click on "View Licenses" to see which US Soccer Learning Center licenses are required in order to complete the requirement in Ankored. You only need to complete one of the listed trainings.

I completed my certification. Why doesn't Ankored show it yet?

Ankored refreshes U.S. Soccer license and certification data once per day (overnight, at 6:00 AM UTC). The first time your USSF ID is matched, Ankored runs an initial pull so existing certifications appear within a few minutes. After that, new completions are picked up at the next daily refresh. If your completion still isn't showing after 24 hours, contact support. For more detail on how syncing works, see the Complete Guide.

Ankored says my USSF ID is invalid. What should I check?

  1. Re-enter the ID carefully, copying it directly from your Learning Center profile. It should be all 16 digits.

  2. Confirm your date of birth in Ankored matches your date of birth in the Learning Center exactly.

  3. Confirm your first and last name match exactly (for example, "James" vs. "Jim", or a missing second last name, will cause a mismatch).

If you've verified all three and the ID is still rejected, contact support with a screenshot of the error and we'll investigate.

My date of birth matches but I still see a DOB mismatch error. Why?

If you recently corrected your date of birth in LeagueApps, allow 15 to 30 minutes for the change to sync into Ankored, then try again. If the error persists after 30 minutes, contact support with a screenshot showing the DOB in both systems.

If the incorrect date of birth is in your U.S. Soccer Learning Center profile, you must contact U.S. Soccer directly to change it: Change Profile Page Name and Date of Birth.

How do I see which USSF ID is connected to my account?

Your connected USSF ID is now displayed on your U.S. Soccer requirement in Ankored. If your requirement shows no licenses (or licenses you don't recognize) even though you've completed your training, check that the ID shown matches the USSF ID from the Learning Center account where you completed the training. Some people have more than one U.S. Soccer account, and the wrong one may have been connected automatically.

The wrong USSF ID is connected to my account. How do I fix it?

If you have more than one U.S. Soccer account, Ankored may have automatically connected a different ID than the one you use. You can now fix this yourself: open your U.S. Soccer requirement in Ankored and enter the correct 16-digit USSF ID. This works even when another ID is already connected.

For security, the ID you enter must match your date of birth on file in Ankored, so make sure your date of birth is entered and matches your Learning Center profile. Once the new ID is accepted, your licenses re-sync within a few minutes.

Ankored is asking for my date of birth. Why?

A date of birth is required to connect your USSF ID and look up your licenses. If Ankored doesn't have your date of birth, your U.S. Soccer requirement can't connect, and you'll see a prompt asking you to add it. Add your date of birth to your Ankored profile (LeagueApps users: update it in LeagueApps first and allow 15 to 30 minutes for it to sync). Once added, Ankored retries the connection automatically within a couple of minutes.

My U.S. Soccer account is under a different email than my Ankored account. What do I do?

You do not need matching emails if you enter your USSF ID manually. Find your USSF ID in your existing Learning Center account (see above) and enter it in the requirement in Ankored. You can also check which USSF ID is currently connected directly on your requirement, and replace it if it's wrong (see above). Do not create a new Learning Center account, as this creates a duplicate record without your certification history. If you need help connecting your accounts, contact support with both email addresses and your USSF ID.

I'm a team manager (or other non-coaching staff). Do I need a USSF account?

If your organization has assigned you a requirement that verifies through the U.S. Soccer Learning Center, then yes, you need a Learning Center account and USSF ID, even if you don't coach. Follow the account creation steps at the top of this article. If you believe the requirement was assigned to you in error, contact your organization's administrator.

Why is SafeSport the only option showing under my U.S. Soccer Certification?

The requirements you see are configured by your organization or league. If you believe an option is missing, contact your organization's administrator to confirm which certifications are required for your role.
