Why Does My Child's Age Verification Say "Rejected"?

What the Rejected status means when it appears before you've uploaded anything, how to view the reason, and the two ways to fix it.

If your child's Age Verification shows a red Rejected status before you've uploaded anything, nothing is broken. It means your organization set a birth date range for this division, and the birth date on your child's profile falls outside that range. Here's what that means and how to fix it.

Why It Was Rejected

Some organizations use Age Verification to confirm a player is eligible for a specific age division (for example, 10U or 12U). To do this, they set a birth date window on the requirement — a "born on or after" date, a "born on or before" date, or both.

Ankored checks the birth date already on your child's profile against that window before asking you for any documents. If the birth date is outside the window, the requirement is marked Rejected right away.

Because of this:

  • You were never asked to upload a photo or document

  • Nothing was submitted for review

  • There is no Retry button — trying again would produce the same result

How to See the Reason

1. Log in to Ankored and select your child's profile

2. Open the Requirements tab

3. On the Age Verification row, click View Reason

A window titled "[Your child's name] isn't eligible for this division" will open. It shows two things side by side:

  • Birth date on file — the date currently saved on your child's profile

  • This requirement allows — the birth date range the organization set for this division

Compare the two. One of them is the problem.

How to Fix It

There are two possible causes, and each has a different fix.

The birth date on file is wrong

If the birth date shown under Birth date on file is incorrect, update it on your child's profile. Once the birth date is inside the allowed range, you'll be able to complete Age Verification normally.

If your organization uses LeagueApps, your child's date of birth comes from LeagueApps. See Request to Change/Update DOB or Email for how to request a correction.

The birth date is correct, but the division is wrong

If the birth date is right and it's simply outside the range, your child is registered in a division they aren't eligible for. Ankored can't change which division your child is in — contact your organization's administrator so they can move your child to the correct division or program.

Uploading a document or retrying will not change a Rejected result. The birth date or the division has to change.

Good to Know

  • Both ends of the range count. If the requirement allows "Born between March 1, 2012 and July 1, 2012," a child born on March 1 or July 1 passes.

  • The range is checked during verification, too. If you start Age Verification and enter a corrected date of birth that falls outside the allowed range, you'll see the message "This date of birth is outside the range this requirement allows" and won't be able to continue.

  • This is different from a submission that needs review. If you already uploaded a photo and document and heard back that your submission needs correction, that's a separate step. See How to Complete Age Verification for what to do in that case.

  • Your information stays private. Because the check happens before any upload, no photo or document was collected or stored.

Still Stuck?

If the birth date on file is correct and your organization confirms your child is in the right division, reach out to Ankored support through the chat and include your child's name and the organization you're registering with.
